this gloriously rare 1956 maserati A6G/2000 berlinetta zagatois is going on auction

a classic maserati A6G/2000 zagato berlinetta is set for the RM sotheby’s monterey sale. the extremely rare model is one of only 21 originally intended for racing between 1947 and 1956.

this 1956 model is completely hand-built made of a lightweight bodywork comprising hand-hammered aluminum panels. powered by an alloy 2-liter, inline-six engine, this model has taken 7000 hours to restore. each component is completely original, and the chassis, engine, and gearbox all possess matching numbers.

after presenting it at the concorso d’eleganza villa d’este its owner won the model ‘best in class’. more information can be found on RM sotheby’s auction site, where it is estimated to sell for $4,250,000 – $5,250,00 USD.
