philipp frank's trinity video installation in munich church

in his video work titled ‘trinity’, artist philipp frank has taken up and digitally transformed the ornamentation and geometry that exist in the church. the central theme of the installation was a geometric shape consisting of triangle and semicircle (trinity), which was recorded with 3d projections.  the result is ‘old’ patterns, new flowing shapes and symbols that have become a mesmerizing overall picture. 

located at st. ludwig’s church in munich, frank’s project was accompanied by german composer stephan heuberger. the musician played the church organ, a world of sound tailored to the motifs.
