ymage works reinterprets famous paintings as realistic peopleless environments

every artist creates their own style to convey their perception of reality — they filter the world through the prism of their unique vision. but what did they actually see? ‘re-ymagined’ by ymage works creative studio is an art project that digitally renders the reality of artists’ environment before they started to draw reinterpreting light, textures, strokes, and patterns of famous works of art.

the idea appeared when yulia pidlubnyak of ymage works thought about photography physics to master photo-realistic rendering production. ‘at that moment I thought, how would one reinterpret paintings,’ says yulia. ‘aside from illustrating their environment, painters have also translated their impression of light, textures, and moods onto the canvas. this project reverses the process into a digital format.’

these renderings were modeled in 3ds max, using forest pack plugin for vegetation and vray as the rendering engine followed by post-production in photoshop.
