‘photography is still instinctual, but I am more disciplined now. I am trying to make every frame count,
just as in tai chi every breath counts.’

chien – chi chang, taiwanese born, new york based photographer uses the idea of alienation and connection as themes in much of his work. known for  documenting contemporary societal issues from around the world, his work depicts arranged marriages in asia and immigrant culture in the united states. his intense and realistic images explores issues of love, hope and darkness as well as freedom and restriction. chang’s work will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at chi wien gallery, tapei.
