alien architecture captures real buildings in benidorm, by al mefer

hoping to provoke the idea of building human hives in outer space, neuroscientist and photographer al mefer captures the spanish architecture of benidorm before post-processing images to make it seem like buildings are floating, monumental cosmic volumes. titled alien architecture, the series comprises 9 pictures of colorful endless structures, representing perhaps the 9 planets of the solar system. 

through his work, mefer addresses issues in the current environmental and social condition of living on earth. giant icons of the artist’s imaginative world are both scary and strangely mysterious whilst inviting us to find out more about the possible future of humanity.
