FENDI presents WELCOME! by chiara andreatti, celebrating 10th edition at design miami

to celebrate its 10th edition with design miami/, FENDI presents an open environment on ‘good living’, with furnishings designed by chiara andreatti, during miami art week 2017. titled ‘WELCOME!’, the living room features andreatti’s interpretations of FENDI’s most famous icons.

cuoio romano leather, the selleria stitch, pequin and fur craftsmanship are all incoporated by the designer whose furnishings have been curated in this living room concept by maria cristina didero. andreatti uses soft hues and exotic suggestions through handcrafted materials like iron, brass, matte white ceramics, glass and neon.

together with more natural elements like walnut, thick bamboo netting, parchment and coco fiber – andretti has reimagined previous editions, from the FENDI archives – translating the roman maison’s spirit. a 4m-long sofa, upholstered in a black and tobacco pattern recalls the brand’s iconic shopper from the 1970s, lit by large japanese-inspired pendant lamps.

each piece demonstrates a different style, with archival graphics decorating wool carpets – commemorating the brand’s selleria stitch. bamboo coffee tables echo the slanting lines associated with fendi shapes, the base for a collection of white ceramics with organic ridges and brass inserts, and thrones with raw hemp for woven seat-backs. embellished by tropical plants, the atmosphere mixes primordial hints related to the earth defining a rural luxury, rarefied with elegant and refined elements.
