airbnb are offering the opportunity to spend a night in the LEGO house

earlier this year designboom reported on the four-year construction of the bjarke ingels-designed ‘LEGO house’ which opened to the public in september. now a parternship between the danish toys manufacturer and airbnb will offer one family the chance to experience it as their private playground.

the listing, which was constructed with more than 25 million LEGO bricks, invites entrants to apply via airbnb asking them to describe the one thing they would build together with their family if they had an infinite supply of LEGO. whilst a little too late, guests will for sure be inspired once inside the house where everything – from the waterfall bed to the alarm clock and even the cat – is built entirely from LEGO.

as well as having their suggested creation realised, winners of the experience will share a lunch with designer manager specialist and LEGO’s answer to willy wonka, jamie berard. before tucking in however, guests will be encouraged to play with their food, building their order out of LEGO bricks before two friendly robots serve the real thing.

once the house is closed to the public, winners will be able to run through the rooms, exploring and playing under the expert guidance of jamie. kids will be amused in experience zones offering the chance to engineer robotic cars, design cities and much more, whilst adults can trace a timeline of LEGO history.

the final stop on the journey is a bedroom fit for a superfan, featuring a 6-metre-tall LEGO waterfall, surrounded by a pool of bricks. the home consists of two bedrooms, with beds nestled in pools filled with LEGO and LEGO DUPLO, promising a night of colourful dreams (or most likely a sleepless night!). before drifting off, winners will of course need to get to grips with the endless supply of bricks.
