A falling apple is the origin of discovering the laws of gravity.
"Joppari" works against gravity, Rising Apple at the highest level of taste, shape and color.
"Joppari" is the spirit of Tsugaru people, the driving force of growing the best apples in the world.This tradition is getting stronger through Time.
Water in a way is a materialization of Time. They both flow from past towards future, carrying values of history and culture.
In this project, water and earth ( 2 of 5 elements of Japanese philosophy), both basic elements of growth, honor apple by making it an emblem, a symbol of tradition, landscape and social interaction.
Sourcing from Iwaki Mountain "earth"... Iwaki River "water", flows. Right at this "flow", this project takes birth. Chosen by the river, by time itself, a recalled living tradition, a rising apple.
This project is a manifestation, where water as a metaphor of time embraces, holds up, Rises Apple, distinguishing the values and vital importance apple has for this region and for it`s passionate people.
The scale shows apple`s monumental importance. The mesh structure aesthetically allow us to see under the red skin, the white beauty inside. Waterfall transmits a state of peace, freedom and relief. The waterfall sound, through it`s therapeutic effect, makes the panorama really romantic and tasteful. The red color, dynamic movement and sounds grow unforgettable emotions. Through these effects design aims to interact with people physically and spiritually.
Scale and water falling, attract people visually and mentally. Movement and sound create an interaction that provokes the need and the desire to touch and taste the water powder on the skin.
Through plant hibernation and freezing winter it is still alive, moving, rising, feeling optimistic for the spring to come with its dynamic and vibrant colorful blossoming.
Through floating docks it can be accessible just by walking on foot, making possible the experience of navigational excitement, being around and inside the waterfall.
The provocative red color and the waterfall make the panorama very delicious and juicy, perceiving vital mood and desire even through night serenity.
Water rises the apple like a precious crown. This is done through a romantic waterfall, releasing healing and therapeutic sound melodies, creating spiritual states of happiness and peace.
Aluminium is used, being lightweight and noncorrosive material. Water circulates through tubes by a circulation pump. Powerful filters help cleaning the water improving its physical qualities.
