japanese architecture firm shinichi ogawa & associates is no stranger to minimalist seaside projects. in their latest ‘seaside villa’, the architects design a 15,000 sqm weekend residence on the picturesque sandy beaches of thailand. the spacious house is divided into six cube-like rooms: the bedrooms, the living spaces and the kitchen.

shinichi ogawa & associates‘ seaside villa features a 264 sqm deck, with the capacity of hosting numerous events for various functions. each of the six individual boxed rooms connect to the large palm-tree decorated patio. the far-end of the pool holds an additional sun-bathing patio that partitions itself from the sandy shore through a foundational stone wall. designboom has previously featured other projects by shinichi ogawa, including a 150-meter-long weekend house and a single storey ‘minimalist house‘ in japan. see our full archive here.
