high speed racing and high speed photography – kremer johnson captures the participants of el mirage dry lake bed in all their glory. as home to land speed racing and hosting many series each year, the lake bed welcomes hundreds of hot rods, roadsters, belly tankers, lakesters, motorcycles, and even trucks. over its six weekend season, many of these automotive vehicles receive countless hours of maintenance, updates and fine tuning, most often acting as the test ground for the speed week at the bonneville salt flats.

kremer johnson‘s ‘el mirage – dry lake bed’ photography series recognizes that all participants and event workers are volunteers. they work tirelessly and push boundaries with complete devotion and passion for weekends on end. the series captures this dust and glory both prior and after racers complete the 1.3 mile long track, racing to unimaginable speeds whilst always pursing more.
