from books, french pastries, jewellery to cigars and champagne, tom dixon approached the 350 sqm restaurant by simplifying the interior to accentuate the broad palette of opulent finishes and honest materials chosen for their longevity. inside, wood is used to line the walls and complement the marble-top bars. deep tones of oxblood upholstery and brass fixtures combine to make a contemporary nod to the 1960’s world of advertising.

‘the unique parisian identity of publicis drugstore has always inspired me,’ comments tom dixon. ‘I remember having be brought there, late at night, aspirin. I remember the publicis’ logo representing a lion in stainless steel. it relates to a certain image of france. modern, looking to the future.’

the food is prepared in the kitchen that is open and a window indicated by a sign serves as the patisserie. connected to the restaurant is a glass conservatory and seasonal terrace. together, natural light fills the spaces and act as an alternative setting to the more dark brasserie interior. tones of natural green is injected to instill a sense of calm, comfort and understated glamor that the 8th arrondissement embodies.
