one of lamborghini’s twenty ultra-rare ‘centenarios’ has surfaced in hong kong, a year following the supercar’s first release at the geneva motor show 2016. there is a chance that you can only view its full carbon-fiber body in the flesh from racetracks, as the car is unfit for road use — meaning it may never even be driven on the roads on hong kong.

lamborghini’s centenario is one of only twenty worldwide, with aggressive bodywork defined in gloss-finished carbon-fiber. the front hood, scissor door panels and roof line are merge together organically. the front splitter, side skirts, wheel arches, and rear diffuser all feature a matte finish. with permanent four-wheel drive, the supercar also adopts a rear-wheel steering system. at low speeds the rear tires turn in the opposite direction of the steering angle, which leads to a virtual reduction of the wheelbase for tight, city cornering. in three driving modes at fast speeds, the system increases stability and optimizes vehicle response.
the ultra-rare ‘centenario’ has the same vehicle architecture of the ‘aventador’, with a little bit of tweaking for high performance. the 6.5 liter V12 reaches an astonishing 770 horsepower, while it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds, exceeding the maximum speed of 217 mph with ease. the lesser-spotted supercar’s interior refinements comprise of a sat-nav enabled 10.1 inch if touchscreen display at the driver’s side, where they can access the internet, check e-mails + social media, and apple carplay.
