the honda FX 650 fusqvarna motorcycle by le garage de félix

the FX 650 ‘fusqvarna’ scrambler by le garage de felix takes a 2001 honda motorcycle and celebrates its bright red and chrome husqvarna fuel tank with a custom ‘F’ logo. denoting the initial for félix, the rennes-based fabricator pays homage to the 100-year-old motorbike brand synonymous with great swedish machines of the ’70s and ’80s.

le garage de félix’s ‘fusqvarna’ enhances the the honda ‘FX 650’s’ elegance with its minimalist, uncluttered look and a seat that appears to be ‘floating’ in mid-air. it has created a scrambler featuring this magnificent red and chrome tank, contrasting with most of the black components, while highlighting the bright red (RAL 3002) of the tank / seat assembly. the only other hint of red is the rear shock spring, visually enhancing the mechanical part.

for the engine and chassis, felix takes a 2001 ‘650’ honda FX as its base and stripped it bare of most of the parts that were no longer necessary, keeping just the essential elements. as a matter of course, it took everything apart and reconditioned it piece by piece. excluding just the air filter and jets, the engine is strictly original. the rider’s position is limited to the essential, with no frills. the electrical side is features a number of motogadget units, while pirelli ‘MT60’ tyres add just the right amount of aggression to the striking black spoke/wheel combination.

the ever-present shade of black is found on the frame and engine, plus on the bespoke garage de félix-made exhaust, which enhances the 650 cc four-stroke engine. since hearing is one of the five senses, the rennes workshops seeks to stimulate auditory levels with careful attention. one particular detail that plays a part in decluttering the rear of the machine, while making it road-legal: the number plate bracket fixed to the rear wheel axle and running above the tyre, almost like a mini-mudguard.
