KEM studio designs the latest martin logan electrostatic speaker

US-based KEM studio has designed the latest electrostatic speaker for martin logan, a high-end audio brand that manufactures audio products for the most demanding audiophiles. the masterpiece series is a ground up redesign of their flagship electrostatic speaker, which includes four floor standing models and two center channels. the big idea of the line was to cohesively integrate the cabinet and frame in a simple, sustainable and technical solution that suits in modern and traditional spaces.

in martin logan‘s latest piece, the airframe blade designed by KEM studio captures the curved electrostatic panel, while providing a more accurate and efficient sound – creating an optimal listening experience. it never obstructs playable surface area or interferes with the panel’s dipole sound radiation pattern. even more, it provides electrical and acoustical isolation, minimizing intermodulation distortion caused by vibration and resonance.

manufactured from aerospace-grade extruded aluminum alloy, the airframe blade is narrow in the front, broad on the side and tapering around the bottom and to the back, capturing the woofer and housing the amplifier. ‘all of this innovation has produced a speaker with more performance and versatility than ever before, while being sustainable in its materiality and overall story.
