french artist vincent leroy brings back his stone age glass installation with a finer twist. composed of eleven reflective pieces, the structure is displayed right under the grand palais in the champs élysées of paris, appearing as a bigger and more striking volume.

revealed during the art paris art fair 2017 at the NeC gallery, the ‘stone age eleven elements’ by vincent leroy contrasts and visually breaks down the mirrored image of the grand palais. just like a diamond, the mirrors reflect fragments of the historic complex — offering an other facet of industrial and architectural details.

‘the sculpture seems to breathe, it is very restful’, notes leroy. like most of his works, the structure is created with a unique blend of poetry and technology. in fact, the triangular mirrors are piloted by only one motor with a light aluminium framework — all moving with the same speed but different directions. the overall effect is a body that seems to be breathing, pulsing with no constraints or interruptions.

many new pieces of leroy will be visible soon at the NeC gallery in paris from may 11th to june 17th 2017.
