one boutique manufacturer in michigan has developed a luxury interpretation of the classic muscle car. the equus ‘bass 770’ is a powerful luxury vehicle that combines timeless-styling with a contemporary sense of prestige.

the equus ‘bass 770’s exterior design appears to draw influences from a number of the best muscle car manufacturers: the elegant silhouette, roofline, and fastback are all similar to the 1960’s ford ‘mustang’; the front-profile is like a sleek 1970’s chrysler combined with two dodge ‘SRT hellcat’ headlamps; and the tail recognizes late 1960’s chrysler vehicles. 

the ‘bass 770’s’ power comes courtesy of a supercharged 6.2 litre ‘LS9’ V8 engine from the chevrolet ‘corvette ZR1’, paired with a six-speed manual gear box. this combination creates performance figures like a ferrari ‘458 spider’, producing a quite frightening 640 horsepower with 605 lb.ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 – 60 mph (0 – 96 km / h) in just 3.4 seconds, hitting its top speed at 200 mph (321 km/h). these figures are boosted by its lightweight aluminum chassis, with a ‘superformed aluminum body’, plus carbon fiber inners enhancing structural strength.

the handcrafted interior architecture of this muscle car pays hommage to the classics while integrating innovative features. sat next to the retro-styled steering wheel is a touch screen with USB connvectivity + satellite navigation built into its leather covered console. the dark luxurious interior is highlighted with shiny metal and aluminum elements. for a premium, a designer creates a bespoke interior with just about any color, or interior refinement.
