as our library of smart, connected devices continues to grow, bosch’s goal at this year’s CES was to not only ensure they speak fluently to each other, but that they speak fluently to you. to that end, their as yet unnamed fully-electric concept car, revealed at this year’s event, is all about customisation.

bosch’s concept follows the trend of approaching the car of the future as a ‘third living space’, existing alongside work and home and making use of a variety of tools to connect the three. ‘personalization is a growing trend in the realm of connectivity, and we are driving this trend forward,’ said dr. werner struth, member of the bosch board of management, during the company’s press conference. bosch imagines a next level of interconnectivity, referencing not just smart home and cars in their concept but smart cities, and how they’ll all be tailor made for you. to achieve this, the bosch concept car boasts a number of features. facial recognition technology controls everything you would otherwise tweak yourself: seat height, steering wheel, mirrors, temperature and even the radio station.

the concept also promises control through a haptic touch display and innovative system of gesture controls that provide immediate tangible feedback. if you’re a stressful parker, the concept can tap into cloud based data to access a community parking system, a map of parking data collected and shared by cars that takes the pressure out of finding a parking spot. think you might not fit in the gap? just ask your car. according to an article by cnet eye-tracking technology will also feature, allowing relevant information to be brought to the forefront depending on where the driver’s eyes are drawn. of course, the bosch smart home system will integrate fully with the car’s systems, allowing you to control heat, smart devices and lights back home, all from the comfort of the driver’s seat.
