studio yumakano tips glasses in their drink coin collection

japanese-based studio yumakano can tip people’s drinks…literally. their latest creation, entitled drink coin, is a collection of coin banks that come in the shapes of mugs, wine and brandy glasses. these drinkwares — made out of glass– must be broken to retrieve the money that has been dropped inside.

just like regular coin banks, studio yumakano carved the top with a thin slit where people can drop their coins and collect them. different types of drinkwares were created for this series. indeed, the glasswares vary between finer designs (wine and brandy glasses) and the everyday use (coffee mugs). the mix of styles in the drink coin collection makes it all the more peculiar.
