A chair for intro-or-extroverts by Andrew Pyza from netherlands
designer's own words:
In this world, there are two types of people and sometimes the exception - the introverts, the extroverts and the hybrids. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, but public and open spaces can be a chaotic environments, full of chatter, private phone calls, conferences, catch ups all tailored towards extroverts..
This chair concept is designed for both introverts and extraverts allowing the user to express their individual intent. Whether they choose to open up as an extrovert to signal they are open for conversation, or to bunker in as an introvert to block off the world to get in some needed focus on a project, or perhaps you and your teammate just want an isolated space to work together. Designed to work individually or as modules creating temporary partitions.
1:1 scale model is being constructed out of wood, to look into injection moulding for further models, to be built in a variety of sized arms, from the short to the long or connected modules. The concept will sit on a tear dropped metal base, while the main body will be encased in sound absorbing fabric, fold up work inner work tables and lights.
The concept is designed to allow for the most optimal usage of space and functionality in corporate environments ensuring a flexible, adaptable solution for everyone.
