okuda san miguel turns an abandoned house in arkansas into a 'universal chapel'

in the north west part of arkansas, okuda san miguel has transformed an abandoned house into ‘the universal chapel’, using his emblematic colors, graphics and motifs to enliven the existing structure. geometric figures and animated patterns have been painted from the floor to the roof, wrapping the disused site in a technicolor coat of vibrant visuals. okuda’s signature street art style blends organic shapes with human figures, eyes, and animals to relay multifaceted themes of the universe and the creatures that inhabit it.

presented as part of the second edition of the unexpected art festival — organized by 64.6 downtown and curated by charlotte dutoit of justkids — ‘universal chapel’ sits at the east entrance to the town. okuda’s dynamic display of color and abstract geometries canvases the façade, hip roof, and entryway, turning the abandoned house into a public outdoor museum for both locals and visitors to experience and enjoy.
