shangai, china now has asia’s biggest railway station. the beijing south railway station is of giant proportions, built over 940 000sqm the roof alone is the size of 20 football pitches. designed by terry farrell and partners the dome shape building consists of 24 platforms and is bigger than the bird nest olympic stadium. trains arriving and departing from the station will be able to reach speeds up to approximately 560km per hour.
