fitness & hospitality meet in amsterdam’s rocycle studio designed by XML

amsterdammers now have the option to pair a high-intensity workout with a hospitality experience of equal stature. ‘rocycle’ is a boutique fitness studio, designed by dutch creative agency XML, that marks the introduction of ‘athleisure’ to the netherlands, combining aspects of fitness and leisure that characterize modern lifestyles.

pre-or-post workout, patrons can grab healthy goodies at the ‘rocycle’ in-house juice bar

in addition to spinning classes, ‘rocycle’ features the ‘cold press juicery’, an in-house bar that offers a variety of organic drinks, smoothies, and nutritious snacks. sharing the lobby is a mirrored reception desk shadowed by a translucent wall. embedded, programmable LEDs within the wall convey information — and branding — to guests.

unisex locker room 

a stylish unisex locker room provides space to prepare — or pass out — depending on which side of the workout you’re on. the studio itself is large, soundproof, and has 27 speakers for an immersive, undistracted experience. pre-or-post workout, visitors are encouraged to socialize in the ‘rocycle’ lobby where they can enjoy canal views and a snack with friends and fellow cyclists.
