‘desks are very special, personal places, at once intimate and public. a space, in fact, an area in which you set out all your implements’ says michele de lucchi, designer of the ‘secretello’ work station. the furniture piece which was distributed by unifor and molteni&c, reflects this idea of an enclosed territory which is both private yet exposed, by openly showcasing the user’s treasured objects and tools. it is a place that ‘reacts to its owner’s character and, as you know, your character is the most precious thing that you have’ expresses lucchi who firmly states that ‘good characters are worth putting on show’.

‘secretello’ by michele de lucchi is constructed as a modern working space, functional and self-sufficient. it reinterprets the theme of the secrétaire associated with that of a glass display cabinet in a contemporary key. designed for use in a home environment too, this desk, features elegant construction solutions, along with quality materials and finishes. made entirely of wood and safety glass, ‘secretello’ consists of a solid natural oak frame which supports the transparent inserts that characterize this piece.

the desk contains an adjustable roof which can be lifted above when in use and pulled down to lock everything away. it transforms from a functional furniture object into a display cabinet through the use of a single action. designed for the modern day living, ‘secretello’ embodies a classic design that caters to a contemporary audience.

‘secretello’ was displayed at salone del mobile 2016.
