the new congress hall in rome has been designed by italian architects studio fuksas.
the building often referred to as a ‘cloud’ hopes to strengthen the image of the capital.
it is rectangular in shape and contains a 3500sqm cloud of glass fibre and steel that
is suspended from beams. the cloud structure is the focal point of the building that
will be illuminated. the new congress hall includes two conference rooms that can
sit 10 000 people in total. the building is expected to be complete by 2010.
