berlin-based architect néstor pérez batista has crafted ‘tegoyo I’, a renovated dwelling in la geria — a region of lanzarote known for its vineyards and volcanic landscapes. the brief from the client was to establish a visual link between the site’s existing farm buildings and their surrounding environment. in order to cement a close relationship with the context, the scheme employs natural, locally sourced materials such as stone, wood, clay, and glass.

organized across a single storey, the project is divided into two units that both house a living and dining room, and a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. the program is distributed along the building’s east-west axis, with internal proportions and heights adapted to specific uses. each area includes large windows that present sweeping views of the adjacent landscape — a carefully planned fenestration designed to create an ambiguity between inside and out.
