the cities of rotterdam and the hague occupy a special position in the development of the early years of OMA. the region boasts the highest density of OMA projects in the world, with countless studies, designs, built and (already) demolished works. the studio has work on every aspect of the urban experience in this region: buildings, urban planning, parks, interiors, culture, pop, dance and infrastructure. OMI (office for metropolitan information) has created ‘oma fiction | non fiction’, a voyage that discovers the work of OMA in rotterdam and the hague, and the 40 years of thinking about this urban region.

by creating this exhibition and journey, OMI pays a homage to OMA and their work in rotterdam and the hague

OMI has developed a journey with a map that encourages tourists, architecture enthusiasts and OMA fans to experience the southern randstad. with the launch of the map, OMI offers a program that connects rotterdam and the hague, with city excursions and tours. OMI is also the venue for an exhibition where all the realised projects are displayed on large-format photographs and with a ‘carpet’ showing 25 fictitious projects. a special evening program of film screenings and presentations complements the insights into the work of OMA.
