designed by j.p. meulendijks for plankton, the ‘colosseum’ suspended lamp is a big eye-catcher thanks to its powerful appearance. made entirely of coated steel with a white matte finish, this lamp has 85cm in height and 47cm in diameter. its design references and pays tribute to one of the most well known and important iconic structures in the world, the eiffel tower.

the lamp consists of various eiffel tower-shaped objects that when attached together, give the lighting object its final form. to understand that the lamp is made of these objects, it’s necessary to go closer and look at it with more caution. the detailed structure creates a stunning shadow play, expressive and enhancing the connotation of the shape it’s constructed from.

‘colosseum’ is a very expressive, dynamic and striking looking lamp, with layers of humor and poetry hidden in the design. this large suspended lamp is ideal for restaurant, hotel lobbies and residential spaces with high ceilings.
