ceren dabag recreates overwhelming big city feelings in LOCK collection

istanbul-based product designer ceren dabag portrays in a series of wearable objects the overwhelming sensation that arouses when living in big cities. the result was ‘LOCK’, a jewellery collection that acts as a symbol of all the difficulties we face in today’s modern world. the necklaces and bracelets reflect on how urban living affects people’s mental health and asks if we want to live in a world made of skyscrapers and tall buildings and if we feel free.

the ‘LOCK’ collection takes its shape from the geometrical architectural lines and forms found in the big metropolises. the small pieces are carefully cut from the stainless steel using numerically controlled (CNC) technology and are later on welded together by with spot-welding processes. the set includes a unisex necklace and bracelet that in a way reference hand and neck cuffs.
