Aurora by Dóra Németh from hungary
designer's own words:
Women become mothers the moment they become pregnant, while men only become fathers - and boys brothers and girls sisters - 9 months later when the child is born. Although the whole family is anticipating the arrival of a new member, only the mother has an intimate relationship with the baby.
Aurora fills this gap connecting the baby to the rest of the family by making it's heartbeat visible and tangible on a smart textile wristband. A soft sensor belt on the mother sends the signal to the devices worn by family members. By touching it the device activates and the baby's heartbeat can be felt through vibrations and a light pattern (based on the image of an embryo scan) also appears flashing to it's rhythm.
This way not only the mother but the whole family can feel the baby anywhere and anytime.
Aurora is a bracelet for the whole family.
The barcelet gets activated when the user touch the surface of it.
