The Remote Control Parking System (RCPS) is a system which can remotely control the parking process of vehicles via wifi, internet or any other technology. It is designed to optimize the space required for parking cars, saving the time wasted for parking process, saving the energy, improving the accuracy of parking process which prevents parking damages and so on. An actuator device is installed on the car that can handle the movement of the car. This actuator can be remotely controlled by a parking lot control center, or a mobile phone application, via internet or wifi. This system can be used in two ways, either a parking lot control center or individuals.

In a parking lot equipped with Remote Control Parking System (RCPS), the driver hands over his/her car to the parking center, giving them the ability to control the car just over the parking zone, and after he/she returns back, the parking center would give car back to the owner. The parking center manages the traffic and parking of the cars using an intelligent control unit, according to the vehicle’s information such as its model and dimensions.
Considering a car with a standard size, the RCPS can save 29% horizontal space (refer to first image, rcps01.jpg), because there is no need to consider a space for opening and closing of car doors. It also saves 31% vertical space, since there is no need to consider a space for pedestrian traffics. As a result 69% more space can be achieved. In addition, no space is needed for walkways, stairways and elevators. Other benefits of such a system are as follows:
- The time that the drivers waste for searching an appropriate location and parking process is saved.
- It minimizes the energy required for electrical appliances (including light systems) and ventilation.
- It increases the security, since there is no public access to the parking zone.
- It optimizes the fuel consumption, and reduces the engine emissions as well.
- The accessibility to the car can be adjusted by the owner for security considerations ( such as the influenced zone, unlocking the doors,…).
- No mechanical equipment is involved, in comparison with Automated Parking System, so that no cost or maintenance is required for mechanical parts.
- The waiting time required to access the car is reduced (in comparison with Automated Parking System).
- Lesser cost and shorter time is needed for construction (in comparison with Automated Parking System).

The other application of Remote Control Parking System is for individuals (refer to second image, rcps02.jpg). It facilitate the parking process for handicapped or individuals who have trouble parking their cars, because it gives them a full outside view. So the accuracy of the parking process improved, which leads to lesser parking damages. Additionally, in situations where, for any reason, a parked car is needed to reposition, but the owner is far from the location of the car, he/she can remotely reposition the car using RCPS. In a more special case, the RCPS can be used to facilitate the parking of vehicles which are difficult to control during parking process, like trucks.

The parking center manages the traffic and parking of the cars using a control system, via wifi, internet or any other technology.
