In the near future, it is expected that electronic devices will be supplied with power from Wireless Power Transfer system (WPT) without needing to be connected to the outlets or batteries. Starting from a small area such as a desk, WPT fields will expand and eventually create space which is filled with energy. In this way, the energy exists like the air around us.

In anticipation of this future, we would like to propose a new lighting system that visualizes WPT fields by utilizing LED charms. The charm that contains a small coil and a LED chip is shaped like a smooth pebble. Without any power sources inside, the charm glows when it is put in a WPT field.

We propose two main usages for this charm.

First, placing a large number of charms in a WPT field, the charms glow dimly and let us know where the invisible WPT field is. This is the same as small white stones in Japanese shrines and rock gardens indicating sacred areas.

Second, by carrying the charm, it lets us know that we are unexpectedly approaching to WPT fields scattered in a street. It means WPT field will not be static. It will move around and appear/disappear depends on the time, because people will be able to carry the power source easily and unstable natural energy such as sunlight and wind will become very common in the future.

From the above, combining WPT field and the charms, Energy Field works not only as a new type of lighting device but also works as a way to anticipate the existence of the invisible WPT fields.
