minimalistic basket tables created for frequent movement by mario tsai

chinese designer mario tsai — founder of ZZ design studio — created ‘basket tables’ for frequent coffee table movers. after observing that people often attempt to move a table while otherwise preoccupied — i.e. have a coffee cup, stack of books, backpack in one hand. the two table series solves the issue by becoming a tray. seemingly unstable, the minimalistic elements use metal crossbeams to uniformly distribute loads across their surfaces. ‘basket tables’ are light weight, and can be picked up and carried, singlehandedly, to their needed location.
