offering a dynamic way of experiencing light, laura lynn jansen and thomas vailly – both alumni of design academy eindhoven – have collaborated on a series of layered and distinctive luminaries. selected as a talent a la carte during maison et objet 2015, ‘color of the day’ investigates light and its properties found within nature. reminiscent of the crystalline qualities seen under a polarized microscope, like a laboratory petri-dish, the light is manifested as a multi-layered, constantly changing pattern. treated with contemporary methods and materials, an array of effects, combinations of  color patterns have been composed where each piece has been formed with a unique design.
