not a number architects envisions bucharest juice bar as an urban cabin

occupying a small plot in the center of bucharest, this juice bar adopts the irregular outline of a derelict turkish café, which previously stood on the site. designed by not a number architects, the scheme was conceived as a secure and protective cabin – placed within an urban context.

interior space is organized around a centrally positioned table, while the seating area is separated from the kitchen with an orthogonal grid of shelves filled with books and magazines. spruce boards are applied for the interior cladding and are also extended externally for the cubic booth for takeaway service. the cabin’s walls are uniformly coated in standing-seam black sheet metal, which lends the project a dark and monolithic quality.
