neri&hu’s sedan chair for classicon visually wraps seat shell over frame 

neri&hu define their ‘sedan’ chair for classicon, by visually emphasizing the way in which the seat shell wraps over the wooden frame like a cover. projecting more of the structural way in which the design is composed, the shanghai-based architects have created two functional areas that complement one another, aesthetically generating a contrast of different materials.  

the design offers a contrast of different materials

neri&hu long searched for furniture ideal for their hotel projects, and have thus conceived the ‘sedan’ chair for the contract segment —  offering a strong character that is comfortable, lightweight and durable. the design is comprised of a solid wood base in natural or black-stained with clear varnish, finished with an upholstered seat that comes in black or white rigid polyurethane foam, or a polyurethane upholstered seat cover in fabric or leather.
