in continuation of the annual young architects program (YAP), MoMA has selected a shortlist of five offices to compete for the design of PS1‘s 2015 courtyard transformation next summer. the emerging and ambitious designers tasked with envisioning next year’s temporary installation are:

new york/madrid-based office for political innovation (andres jaque)

miami-based brillhart architecture (jacob brillhart)

los angeles-based erin besler

new york-based the bittertang farm (michael loverich)

toronto-based studio benjamin dillenburger

the selected design will build upon a lineage of structures which present diverse and fresh ways of producing architecture, such as the most recent ‘hy-fi‘ by the living / david benjamin, composed of bricks made from organic material. previous PS1 YAP installations include the 2013 ‘party wall‘ by CODA, 2012’s ‘wendy‘ by HWKN, 2011’s ‘holding pattern‘ by interboro partners, 2010’s ‘pole dance’ by SO-IL, 2009’s ‘afterparty’ by MOS, and 2008’s ‘public farm 1’ by WORKac.
