nendo rethinks the umbrella handle with his design of ‘stay-brella’ for by | n, whose forked shaft makes it not only stable when in use, but able to free-stand on its own when placed on the floor. with the arm turned down, the pronged design can also hang securely from tables and stay propped up on a wall when not in use. available in eight different color options at seibu department stores in japan, each umbrella bears a strap to ensure its anchored drape over the arm, and is layered with a surface coating to reduce UV rays by 90%.
