MIYAJIMA by Yuta Kikawada from japan
designer's own words:
MIYAJIMA is inspired by Itsukushima shrine in Miyajima in Hiroshima, Japan.
The TORII on the spoon is usually built as a gate to a shrine. Also we can find it being used as a symbol of the shrine on the map in Japan. There's little difference between real and symbol.
When you scoop liquid with this spoon you feel like seeing the TORII on the sea from the sky. And get the feeling like carrying a beautiful landscape then spread it in the mouth.
It is an art work to bring a different space in the daily life.
Material:silver-plated brass.
