designers alisa andrasek and jose sanchez have developed ‘bloom’, an interactive urban toy that seeks the engagement of people in order
to construct a variety of configurations. commissioned by the GLA, the sculptural installation celebrates the london 2012 olympic and
paralympic games. users will be able to fully immerse themselves in the building process by learning the different possibilities of the
structural system by altering its form as well as conceiving various sequences that can be used for modifying the environment.
produced in the official neon pink olympic color, the toy is available in three separate modules and variations, where participants can
build a ring, a spiral or a distributed branch, resulting in the contribution to the final form comprised of over a thousand assembled
components.
