This dress inspired by moon as a metaphor for a charmer who wants to influence different characters of people by its mutant appearance. Like moon phases altering during month with a new beautiful shape which is complete in each position although it’s different by our vision and position.
The ‘’Mutant Moon’’ project is aimed to provide a dress for the inquiring mind of these days people and open a window to see tradition from the contemporary vision. This project is based on the forms and philosophy of the conventional kimono, like usage of straight lines and the basic approaches in fashion industry which require a vast variety of shapes and forms.
On the other hand these days less people have been wearing kimonos and it has changed its usage to an extremely formal dress which is used rarely. With the versatile features of ‘’Mutant Moon’’, it has altered to a product which suit different taste and occasions.
Duchess satin has used as the main material and by folding and pleating the textile and usage of stitches in various part of the dress which are placed inside it to eliminate appearance of threads, altering the forms has become possible by pushing threads and collecting the surplus inside the garment.
