portuguese designers diogo agular and teresa otta of LIKEarchitects have commissioned ‘chromatic screen’ as part of the point of view series in the 2012 oporto show by design factory. the intervention is representative of work that borders between architecture, design, urban installation and art. drawn from the re-interpretation of common objects of daily use, the project builds on the interpretation of a dividing element and spatial organizer, that involves all who visit it into a chromatic experience with different moments of opacity and transparency. made using two-thousand children’s hangers from IKEA, the four different colors – blue, green, pink and orange – merge into multiple tonalities, resulting in a kinetic experience.
