the design concept is take a graphic resources used at the discovery kids program “word world”, which consist of creating a character by using the character’s name. For example: create a cat using the word “cat” as the structure of the body. Even Though this is a well known graphic resource I haven’t seem it applied in the fashion industry. So the idea is put to the kimono a print made of the Japanese symbol “kimono”, put to the obi a print made of the Japanese symbol “obi” and so on.
In the other hand for giving it a stronger look to the print, the idea is make an ombre fabric that starts as a regular fabric and finish as a transparent fabric. The Japanese symbols printed on the transparent area are going to look like a tattoo on the skin. This transparent area would be on the sleeves and nearby to feet.
