shibui debuts linelight’s unobtrusive luminosity at maison et objet 2014

‘linelight’ is a versatile LED task system for home or office use, whose slim 12 x 12mm extruded aluminium tube housing offers unobtrusive luminosity to one’s interior. the lamps have been designed by constantinos hoursoglou and anthanasios bablais of shibui, who wanted to deliver a lighting source made from commercially available components that was discreet in its appearance. through the employment of compact LEDs the swiss-based duo were able to develop a thin, linear-in-form object, that while minimal in its size, provides maximum lighting output. 

through a series of pivots and rotation points the light can be adjusted to the user’s requirements

each ‘linelight’ functions on a series of pivots and rotation points that allow the user to adjust the design to their desired requirements, depending on their activities, and is available in a number of powder-coated colors. shibui presents the ‘linelight’ at maison et objet in paris from september 5-9, 2014.

once folded down and turned against the wall, it provides ambient illumination.
