KMD architects‘ ‘terret polanco’ in mexico city, mexico, is in the process of LEED certification for its sustainable qualities. amongst other prominent developments such as ‘plaza carso‘ and fernando romero’s ‘museo soumaya‘, the skyscraper hopes to become a new environmentally-friendly business hub for the country. within this structure, space arquitectura has constructed the corporate offices of grupo CP, a project on three levels (floors 16 through 18), each comprised of approximately 1570m².

with the help of pentágono estudio throughout the process, specialized furniture, graphic arts, and applications were generated to evoke an architectural balance in conjunction with the identification of spaces and visual communication. each level incorporates particular details that generate an integral thematic concept related to the company’s business areas: city, health, and automotive.

the shape of the floor plan is trapezoidal with a core towards the back that does not reach the façade. within this footprint, the architectural program includes spaces such as a vestibule, lobby, open areas, private rooms, conference rooms, executive dining rooms, informal meeting rooms, one-to-one rooms, training areas, support areas, IDFs, technology rooms, digitalization rooms, cash register, among others. level 16 is private with an openness supplying the need for a collaborative environment. above, level 17 is public with a large training zone. the final floor, level 18, is hierarchically distinguished  for its private spaces for shareholders and executives. in the design of these offices, sustainability in operation was contemplated from the start, featuring low energy consumption through lower-than-standard illumination levels, low VOC contents in the products to be used, and a standardization of materials.
