american fashion designer alexander wang has teamed up with australian brand haydenshapes to outfit his new york soho flagship store with a limited series of five hand-crafted surfboards. the exclusive boards are suspended from a black metal cage wall with a large, monolithic swooping black wave sculpted from black sand. the graphic patterns – photographs of unique marble slabs developed by haydenshapes founder hayden cox and wang himself – were digitally printed onto silk, then onto award winning hypto krypto boards to create one of a kind visual art pieces for the ‘cage’. accessories such as leather satchels and some of the brand’s top selling items are also scattered throughout the installation to accentuate the interior space.
