the ‘endless lights’ by bram vanderbeke started out of, ‘a fascination to create a container for the future, followed by wanting to show the endlessness of the future, and giving people the possibility to place themselves in this endlessness, and create a place to stare in and dream.’  this ethos resulted in a series of three surreal and ethereal lamps with a movable translucent mirrors. gazing into the motion of the embedded reflective surface exhibits hypnotizing patterns of and color luminance to provide viewers with a sense of occupying an infinite space of existentialism. its circular face makes references to a psychic’s crystal ball as it recreates the surroundings in manipulative ways that call into question what is actually being displayed. the shapes are casted in resin and change color by the influence of light according to their transparency.
