the museum of contemporary art in los angeles, california opens the first west coast solo exhibition of new york-based artist cai guo-qiang’s explosion installation ‘sky ladder’. his new work continues to explore his interest in time, space and metaphysics. the artist has developed both a site-specific, public explosion event for the grounds of the museum in addition to three gunpowder drawings housed in the building’s interior.
