‘paperwork’ by harry allen for hive
new-york-based designer harry allen has created ‘paperwork’ for furniture manufacturer hive under the direction of filipino industrial designer kenneth cobonpue. together, they invented a technique which makes papier-mâché more structurally stable while still allowing light to pass through it. the traditional lamp designs are recreated using the paper mix, creating a contrast between the form and the material from which it is constructed. to pronounce the texture and silhouette, of both the table lamp and lampara, a graphic outline surrounds the original shape.
