combining features of foursquare, facebook, and twitter, the ‘wallit’ app lets users create and post on public ‘walls’ in whatever space they are in

the ‘wallit‘ app combines features of facebook, twitter, and foursquare with AR technology to create digital ‘walls’ in public spaces, visible to all and encouraging virtual conversation with nearby friends and strangers. users can post text and multimedia to walls only when physically present in the space, and all messages are public, visible in augmented reality on the phone, or on the app’s screen in a twitter-like interface. users may post anonymously or through facebook or a twitter handle.

currently available for iPhone at the apple store, ‘wallit’ is expected soon for android. virtual ‘wallit’ walls already exist in venues throughout new york city, san francisco, and paris. in particular, ‘walls’ will be present in apple stores in new york city and san francisco this week to coincide with the release of the iPad 3.
