as the owner of bella napoli restaurant in glasgow, scots-bord italian chef domenico crolla has a passion for pizza making, but his craft extends far beyond the standard slice. crolla serves up celebrity portraits drawn straight onto the pie through the careful layering of cheese and sauce. the illustration is seemingly stenciled on the dough, yet a closer look determines that the melted mozzarella has been delicately carved into strands of hair, eyes, noses and mouths. from french designer philippe starck to the wide-eyed kim kardashian, the pizza portraits make us want to ‘say cheese’!
